Mr. Personality

So, Jonny works at Red Lobster in Portland, OR. He is working in the kitchen there. He has been wanting to wait tables there, but they haven't let him yet. (Even though he has at least a year of expierence when he worked in FL and at a different restaurant in OR). Yesterday he had a closed door meeting with his bosses. They told him that they won't let him serve because he is too friendly and outgoing and the people of Portland can't handle it. Are they serious? Don't you want friendly people working with your customers? Are the people in Portland really that lame?

4th of July Crocs

Aren't these hot?

Does anyone know what they want to do for the Fourth? I know it's not a super-exciting holiday, but I'd like to get people together if possible. One idea is coming to my house around 6-7pm. We could grill, play volleyball, drink, kick, light fireworks, etc. etc. Plus, I haven't had you guys over yet.
I'm open to any ideas, I just thought I'd put that out there....

Cheers!

My first time...

Today I drank my first glass of iced tea! The interesting part is that I almost liked it. I liked it enough to try it again anyway...

Ten years later....

Well, I know its not a great picture because its old and out of focus but I just wanted to make a mention of this very special day. Ten years ago today Christine and I befriended a few boys in a mini van who turned out to be great travel companions and friends. Just think ten years ago was the real thing ,"The Summer of '98". Doesn't Bernals look cute as a contemplative hippy guy? Well I still have that shirt he's wearing and even better, all of the memories that came with that great summer. Here's to Minnesota, Brookfield and Pearl Jam for giving us some great memories!

Ok, I definitely need to stop checking this blog while I'm at work!

EuroCup Upset

Well I've had a heck of a time trying to watch Eurocup games at work, the Amlings internet connection leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, today the Dutch were eliminated :( So, I tried to googleimage a picture and this was one of the first one's that came up when I typed Dutch Soccer! Hehe. Well hopefully tomorrow, the Italians get their butts kicked! Yay for football!

Alligator in Chicago River

Look what they pulled out of the Chicago River today! It was 5 ft long and 45 lbs. Pretty wierd. It looks like Jinnie and Mark moved to the suburbs just in time!

Unexpected Day Off

So, I didn't go to work today because I am pretty sure that I have pink eye. I didn't think it was a good idea to work with kids and spread my germs around. So, I am at home with my dog (who by the way has another ear infection). I hate pink eye! But, I am happy to be home doing laundry. :)

Just a thought...someday we should all go to Mexico and visit a vanilla plantation. I think it would be cool. Vanilla beans come from these orchids...how lovely...

Whew, another wedding weekend Bites the Dust

So, we made it through another wild weekend of dancing and wedding hoopla. I had a lovely time yesterday, even though I do have several blisters...I blame it entirely on the cha cha slide. Today I've been a complete bum, it started with Coyote Ugly and traveled through to Stand By Me, with Law and Order in between. Of course in the meantime my skyscraper paper has dominated whatever brain power I could muster. That's my Sunday in a nutshell. In other news, I'll miss you lots Alex! I hope that D.C is a fun and interesting experience. You should definitely post any pictures that you take with politicians or monuments! I hope everyone else is enjoying their lazy or not lazy day.
